On the evening of Tuesday, 16 January, SweCham had the pleasure of supporting the Swedish Institute Management Program’s (SIMP) Diploma ceremony with the Swedish Alumni Network Thailand (SANT) held at the Swedish Residence.
The evening commenced with an address by H.E. Anna Hammargren, our ambassador, emphasising the significance of SANT initiatives and its role in fostering connections between the two nations. Following the Ambassador’s opening remarks, we were privileged to hear from Trade Commissioner Kacper Pierzynowski. In his speech, Kacper underscored the significance of SIMP, highlighting its pivotal role in enhancing relations with key stakeholders in Thailand.
The highlight of the evening was when H.E. Anna Hammargren conferred the diplomas for the SIMP graduates. SIMP is a programme for ambitious thought leaders who want to bridge the gap between desired action and sustainability. It offers the tools for people to take charge and move to the next level.
SANT celebrated its accomplishments from the past year at this special event, showcasing impactful activities, including the Plogging initiative, a roundtable discussion on ‘Plastic Waste: Management and Social Awareness’ hosted by Tetra Pak, and insightful professional networking sessions on ‘Career Development to Secure Your Future.’ with a special speaker from IKEA. SANT’s valuable contribution to the Swedish Education and Career Days 2023, promoting Swedish education for Thai students, further cemented the SANT commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Khun Chaidarun Tippawan, SANT Chairperson, further took the stage to express heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing 2023 Board for their unwavering dedication and hard work. Moving forward, we are excited to announce that our Executive Director, Dr Pojanath Bhatanacharoen, a proud Sweden alumna, will join the new SANT Board 2024 as their advisor, lending her expertise and insights to guide the SANT community towards even greater achievements.
After all the speeches, presentations, and ceremonies the evening ended with wonderful food from Rembrandt Hotel & Suites and good networking.
