SweCham Business Networking: Open House Special, 7 September 2023
On the evening of Thursday, 7 September, SweCham had the pleasure and joy of hosting the first networking event since the summer break. The evening started with a welcoming remark from our president, Mr. Peter Björk, who welcomed us into SweCham's cosy office space, delved into the long history of our chamber and how the next year will be our 35th anniversary. Mr. Peter then welcomed our honoured guests and thanked our sponsors and partners!
Mr. Tomas Julin, SweCham Vice President, then shared valuable insights into our community and unveiled the new member- and community-centric website. With our commitment to providing exceptional platforms and enhancing the added value to all our members, we proudly introduced the new SweCham website, a platform designed to spotlight our members' businesses. Additionally, to ensure a seamless user experience for all visitors, this exciting development also comes with a modern design and user-friendly interface, helping us further strengthen our communications with the general public and stakeholders.
In addition, Mr. Tomas touched upon SweCham's advocacy efforts, highlighting our ongoing work to support the Thai-Swedish business community. Serving as a testament to our chamber's commitment to creating meaningful change for Swedish companies. The Advocacy White Paper outlining our objectives can also be downloaded from our website.
Furthermore, SweCham’s Executive Director, Dr. Pojanath Bhatanacharoen introduced the new SweCham Member Directory 2023/24, demonstrating how it is ‘flippable’ and 'searchable.' The Directory is wholly hyperlinked, offering fast and convenient access to all companies and organisations listed to better connect the Thai-Swedish business community with the rest of the world.
We were also honoured to welcome Mr. Lars Andersson, Head of Innovation & IP Management and Liaison at the Center for International Affairs's speech on 'SUT, an Academic Partner for Sustainable Innovation and Entrepreneurship,' where he talked about the Suranaree University of Technology and how they multiple different technological projects, such as floating solar cells and their solar charging stations. Mr. Andersson highlighted the need for more collaboration between the academia and industry, focusing on getting more Thai students into international companies!
We sincerely thank our event sponsor, Suranaree University of Technology, and booth sponsors, Aritco, Fitness24Seven, Sentinels Solutions and Trimar Eurolube. We would also like to thank the supporting chambers and organisations for their support of the event.
