About the event

SweCham is thrilled to extend our warm invitation to all members and friends for the first SweCham Business Connect of 2025, featuring three esteemed Swedish institutions, Jönköping University, University West and University of Skövde .

Over the last ten years, more than 200 students from Sweden, representing Jönköping University, University West and University of Skövde, have actively contributed to various companies in Thailand. This semester, 7 students will be in Bangkok from January to June, engaged in internships or thesis work. They will collaborate with companies while simultaneously pursuing academic studies. During the event, students will share insights into the impact and progress they bring to these companies.

Jönköping University has had over 200 students who have helped/improved companies in Thailand. Contact them if you would like to host a student for one semester at no salary cost. The International Campuses of the School of Engineering (JTH-IC) are our nodes for the implementation of education and research in an international environment. By means of JTH-IC, they offer students to do their internship or thesis abroad, in collaboration with a company, and usually in combination with academic studies. JTH-IC not only promotes Swedish companies that operate globally but also other companies and organisations that are in need of manpower, skills, research and development. They also offer companies customised training courses for the employee as well as distance courses.

University West is a modern university offering programmes that are in close collaboration with working life in an attractive, modern study environment. The university has about 15,000 students and 625 employees. The campus is centrally located in the town of Trollhättan, close to cafés, cinemas, restaurants, and sports facilities, but also very close to beautiful landscapes. The campus is constructed with students' needs in focus.

University West is founded on the principle that knowledge is acquired everywhere, not just in the classroom. Integrating work situations into study programmes – so-called Work Integrated Learning – exemplifies the important relationship between the university and the outside world.  At University West, students experience an open, informal study environment. Usually, students and instructors are on a first-name basis.  This approach encourages dialogue and collaboration between students and the teaching staff, thus stimulating opportunities for new ideas and innovations.
