On Thursday 15 May, SweCham President Khun Peter Bjork, Vice President Khun Jan Eriksson, Board Member Khun Per Lindblom, and Executive Director Khun Anna Olsson-Moore attended the launch of the 2025 European Business Position Paper in Bangkok. The paper is titled 'Elevating Thailand’s Competitiveness: Driving Economic Transformation and Regulatory Reforms.'
At the launch, Ms. Renita Bhaskar, Minister Counsellor, Head of Trade and Economic Affairs, EU Delegation to Thailand, emphasized the Position Paper's importance. She stated it proves EABC's commitment to Thailand and supports the government's goal of transforming Thailand into a modern, high-income economy driven by competitiveness, sustainability, technology, and innovation. Moreover, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand, also highlighted that the document results from European businesses' firsthand experience across various sectors in Thailand. She affirmed that the Ministry values these opinions and welcomes constructive ideas and deeper engagement from the European private sector, based on a shared goal of bringing the best out of Thailand.

The EABC's European Business Position Paper represents the unified voice of European business in Thailand. It is key to enhancing the country's global competitiveness. By implementing these recommendations, Thailand can strengthen its position as a leading regional hub.
