Chonburi, Thailand | 15 June 2026: SKF (Thailand) Limited, a global leader in bearing manufacturing from Sweden, has strengthened its operational capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of a new Regional Warehouse near Laem Chabang Port in Chonburi Province. The new facility strengthens Thailand’s position as a regional distribution hub, enhances supply chain competitiveness, and supports the rapidly expanding industrial market across the region.

The opening of the Regional Warehouse reflects SKF Thailand’s confidence and readiness to serve as a strategic logistics hub connecting supply chain networks across Asia-Pacific. The facility operates under SKF’s Tripod project, a strategic initiative designed to optimize regional supply chain management across three key clusters: (1) Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia; (2) Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines; and (3) Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania.

Strategically located near Laem Chabang Port, the new warehouse spans more than 5,102 square meters and is designed to handle container throughput of more than 9 million TEU while supporting the storage and distribution of over 5,100 SKUs of SKF bearings and industrial solutions.

Designed to maximize operational efficiency, the warehouse supports multiple storage formats, including racking systems, bin storage, and bulk storage. It is also equipped with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) that enables real-time inventory control, stock movement tracking, distribution management, and shipment visibility. In addition, the facility offers end-to-end warehouse and logistics operations covering receiving, putaway, order processing, picking, packing, shipping, inventory management, customs procedures, value-added services (VAS), and returns management.

Mr. Tawiwat Reongpunyaroj, Managing Director of SKF (Thailand) Limited, said, “The opening of our new Regional Warehouse marks a significant milestone in strengthening SKF Thailand’s regional logistics network and enhancing our customer service capabilities. The facility enables us to improve inventory management, shorten delivery lead times, and elevate the overall customer experience across the region.

“By building a more agile, responsive, and efficient supply chain, we are better positioned to meet growing market demand. We expect transportation volumes to increase by approximately 15% annually, while warehouse storage volumes are projected to grow by around 10% per year.”

In 2026, its first year of operation, the distribution center is expected to handle more than 400,000 inbound units and over 183,000 outbound shipments. Approximately 75% of distributed products will serve the Thai market, while Vietnam and the Philippines will account for 20% and 5%, respectively. Supported by both land and sea transportation networks, the facility is expected to further strengthen SKF’s regional growth trajectory.

“Beyond enhancing logistics efficiency, we remain firmly committed to our sustainability agenda. The warehouse utilizes 100% electric material handling equipment and electric prime movers for all internal and on-site logistics operations. This transition to clean energy is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 30,000 kilograms annually, demonstrating that business growth and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.” Mr. Tawiwat added.

Looking ahead, SKF Thailand plans to further elevate its operational standards through LEED Certification (LEED v4) by 2027. The initiative will focus on optimizing energy efficiency and responsible resource utilization throughout the facility, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability while supporting SKF Group’s global Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives.

The launch of the new Regional Warehouse underscores SKF’s role not only as a world-leading bearing manufacturer but also as a global provider of industrial solutions. More importantly, it highlights Thailand’s growing importance as a key logistics hub in Asia-Pacific, well-positioned to support future industrial and trade growth through innovation, operational excellence, and sustainability.
