On Thursday, May 15, 2025, our SweCham team had the pleasure of visiting our premium member, AFRY, at Summer House, Nai Lert Park, Bangkok, to congratulate them on their 60th Anniversary in Thailand. This special event showcased AFRY's remarkable journey and key achievements in global engineering advisory services across Thailand and Asia Pacific, emphasizing their commitment to innovation and sustainable solutions within the energy sector.

The event commenced with a welcoming address from Mrs. Linda Palsson, AFRY President and CEO, followed by speeches from H.E. Mr. Wilhelm Donko, Ambassador of Austria to Thailand, and Mr. Per Linner, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Sweden to Thailand. We were also honored to hear a keynote speech from Mr. Eakarat Samintarapanya, Assistant Governor of Power Plant Planning, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), which led into two engaging panel discussions on the Future of Sustainable Power in Thailand and Technology Drivers of Energy Transition.
Attendees had a wonderful opportunity to delve into AFRY's history and initiatives through an engaging exhibition and creative collaborations with artists, which added a unique dimension to the occasion. Our SweCham team found the event to be incredibly inspiring and insightful, and we gained valuable new knowledge.

As the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, we see significant opportunities for collaboration with AFRY, particularly in advancing sustainable practices within the energy sector. By leveraging AFRY's deep expertise in renewable energy and sustainable solutions, we believe we can work together to foster innovation and promote environmentally responsible practices across Thailand and Southeast Asia. SweCham’s robust network of Swedish and Thai businesses is well-positioned to support these efforts, and we are excited about the potentials or future partnerships.
Together, we can contribute to shaping a sustainable future for the region, driving positive change and supporting the energy transition.
