< Back Swedish Education and Career days, 20-22 October 2023 SweCham would like to extend our thanks to everyone who participated in the Study in Sweden and Alumni Networking at the Swedish Embassy on Friday, 20 October and visited the Sweden Pavilion at the OCSC International Education Expo 2023 between 21 and 22 October. The Study in Sweden and Alumni Networking Event was a success, the event started with a speech from the Swedish Ambassador, H. E. Mrs. Anna Hammargren. This was followed by presentations on studying and living in Sweden from Khun Varaporn Premsot, Cultural Officer, Embassy of Sweden, and Khun Chaidarun Tippawan, Chairperson of Sweden Alumni Network Thailand (SANT)! The universities representatives also shared information about their respective universities, including courses available, entry requirements, scholarship opportunities and accommodation. The evening concluded with networking and discussions of what to expect from student life in Sweden! At the OCSC International Education Expo 2023 last weekend, numerous students and visitors were enthusiastic to delve deeper into the prospects of studying in Sweden and explore the distinctive features of Swedish education. The atmosphere was buzzing with curiosity as attendees engaged in meaningful dialogues and gained valuable insights into the educational practices of Sweden. The students were very excited to talk to the universities represented at the Expo to gain a better understanding of program structures and the opportunities available through studying in Sweden. At both events, students were interested in scholarship opportunities, program offerings, and the overall quality of life in Sweden. Additionally, many were keen to learn about the work opportunities in Sweden post-graduation. On the evening of Tuesday, 16 January, SweCham had the pleasure of supporting the Swedish Institute Management Program’s (SIMP) Diploma ceremony with the Swedish Alumni Network Thailand (SANT) held at the Swedish Residence. < Back Swedish Institute Management Program Diploma Presentation Ceremony 18 Jan 2024 On the evening of Tuesday, 16 January, SweCham had the pleasure of supporting the Swedish Institute Management Program’s (SIMP) Diploma ceremony with the Swedish Alumni Network Thailand (SANT) held at the Swedish Residence. The evening commenced with an address by H.E. Anna Hammargren, our ambassador, emphasising the significance of SANT initiatives and its role in fostering connections between the two nations. Following the Ambassador’s opening remarks, we were privileged to hear from Trade Commissioner Kacper Pierzynowski. In his speech, Kacper underscored the significance of SIMP, highlighting its pivotal role in enhancing relations with key stakeholders in Thailand. The highlight of the evening was when H.E. Anna Hammargren conferred the diplomas for the SIMP graduates. SIMP is a programme for ambitious thought leaders who want to bridge the gap between desired action and sustainability. It offers the tools for people to take charge and move to the next level. SANT celebrated its accomplishments from the past year at this special event, showcasing impactful activities, including the Plogging initiative, a roundtable discussion on ‘Plastic Waste: Management and Social Awareness’ hosted by Tetra Pak, and insightful professional networking sessions on ‘Career Development to Secure Your Future.’ with a special speaker from IKEA. SANT’s valuable contribution to the Swedish Education and Career Days 2023, promoting Swedish education for Thai students, further cemented the SANT commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Khun Chaidarun Tippawan, SANT Chairperson, further took the stage to express heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing 2023 Board for their unwavering dedication and hard work. Moving forward, we are excited to announce that our Executive Director, Dr Pojanath Bhatanacharoen, a proud Sweden alumna, will join the new SANT Board 2024 as their advisor, lending her expertise and insights to guide the SANT community towards even greater achievements. Julia has been absolutely instrumental in so many of our successes, from the Sustainability Expo 2024 and our 35th Anniversary SweCham Gala Dinner to the OCSC International Education Expo 2024, and numerous SweCham Business Connect series. She even played a key role in our beloved Christmas and Midsummer Luncheon cultural events. Her unwavering dedication and positive energy have truly fueled the Chamber's achievements, and we're so grateful to have had her on this journey with us. Thank you so much for hosting our team a special lunch to taste various delicious dishes at Antito, a vibrant Resto-Bar by Michelin Chef Amerigo Tito Sesti, serving creative Italian cuisine in a relaxed poolside setting with spectacular city views. We were impressed by their top-notch service and all the dishes served, from signature pizza and pastas to mouthwatering desserts. AstraZeneca and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, have signed an MOU to announce their collaboration in enhancing the potential of pharmaceutical personnel < Back New Collaboration to Strengthen Pharmaceutical Expertise in Thailand: AstraZeneca and Chulalongkorn University Sign MOU 19 Jun 2025 AstraZeneca and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, have signed an MOU to announce their collaboration in enhancing the potential of pharmaceutical personnel This includes offering learning opportunities through practical experience and co-developing a curriculum that facilitates access to innovative medicines, thereby strengthening a robust and sustainable public health system. Bangkok, 17 June 2025 – AstraZeneca Thailand and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Chulalongkorn University announce a strategic collaboration formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance the potential of students and company personnel through various cooperative programmes. These programmes focus on developing essential knowledge and skills, alongside facilitating access to innovative medicines. This partnership also aims to elevate public health collaboration by fostering the capabilities of medical personnel who play a crucial role in driving Thailand's public health system. The signing ceremony was held at the Pharmacy 80th Year Building, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, and was witnessed by executives from both organisations. This collaboration includes the "Early Talent Future Career Development" programme, which supports pharmacy students in developing their potential through internships aligned with industry standards, offering real-life experience. It also features workshops and lectures delivered by AstraZeneca personnel, preparing students for their future careers, commencing in May 2025. Furthermore, AstraZeneca Thailand and Chulalongkorn University are co-developing a curriculum focused on market access management, a critical component in enhancing access to innovative medicines for Thai patients and fostering collaborations between public and private sectors. The course, aimed at elevating the skills of AstraZeneca employees, is set to begin in June 2025. Held in collaboration with the Bangkok Academy of Sports and Exercise Medicine, the session followed the theme “Active Living without Pain: Train Smart, Perform Better at Every Age,” and offered a warm, friendly atmosphere filled with energy and engagement from all participants. Many thanks to Dr. Tim Pakapon Issaragrasil — Orthopedic Surgeon, Team Doctor of the National Football Team, and AFC Medical Officer —and his colleagues for sharing valuable insights on how to stay active and pain-free at all ages. The session provided practical takeaways on maintaining physical health, reducing injury risks, and improving training routines, while also addressing common pain points among active professionals, recovery strategies, and when to seek specialist care. We also gained a better understanding of how the body functions as a kinetic chain, along with the correct techniques for warming up and sport-specific preparation. The event was further enriched by interactive activities, including guided warm-up and stretching workshops led by sports medicine experts, hands-on trials of medical tools, and an engaging Q&A session. They both have made outstanding contributions to the Chamber’s projects, including assisting us in our previous event and carrying out social media content and reports to promote our members effectively. Most importantly, they have put lots of effort and dedication into our mega project, the newest edition of the SweCham Member Directory! Since their internship came to an end, our team sent them off with a delicious dinner last Thursday. We all had a great time, and it was great to hear that they gained new skills and experiences throughout this internship. Again, we would like to thank them for their enthusiasm and contributions throughout their internship.
