  • ISAN MICE Expo 2025: Exploring Isan’s MICE Potential

    From 28–29 June 2025, our Executive Director, Anna Olsson-Moore, together with SweCham member Andres Borbon from GLHIP, had the opportunity to join the ISAN MICE Expo 2025 in Khon Kaen, organized by TCEB (Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau). < Back ISAN MICE Expo 2025: Exploring Isan’s MICE Potential 1 Jul 2025 From 28–29 June 2025, our Executive Director, Anna Olsson-Moore, together with SweCham member Andres Borbon from GLHIP , had the opportunity to join the ISAN MICE Expo 2025 in Khon Kaen , organized by TCEB (Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau) . The event focused on positioning Northeastern Thailand as a rising MICE destination under the theme: "A New Chapter of Isan: Rooted Identity, Ready for Global MICE." The program featured business matching, networking, and site visits across Khon Kaen’s key venues including: KICE Convention Center Pullman and Avani Khon Kaen Hotels Mitr Phol Innovation & Research Center Glowfish Khon Kaen Sawathee Community – for a cultural immersion into local heritage The main event at TCDC Khon Kaen included an opening ceremony with high-level speeches, panel discussions on Isan’s economic potential, and an MOU signing to support regional MICE growth. A big thank you to Glowfish Khon Kaen for coordinating our visit, and the Ad Lib Hotel for a warm hospitality during the trip. This was a valuable experience for SweCham, not only for regional networking but also to better understand Khon Kaen’s offerings for potential future events and collaboration. Previous Next

He is currently studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After having studied a semester in Thailand, he is now ready to take the next step in his journey as an intern here at Swecham. With previous experience in e-commerce, online-marketing and event management, it is a huge opportunity for him to apply it in a different part of the world. He hopes to gain international experience to give himself a broader perspective about working and building relations with people all over the world. Liam is a second-year student in International Business and IT at the University of Borås. He is currently at the end of an exchange at Panyapiwat Institute of Management for this semester. After one year in the Swedish Armed Forces, Liam decided to change route into the world of academics. Having previous experience in event hosting, group leading and marketing, Liam is hoping to develop and acquire a more extensive knowledge in his role as Event and Marketing Coordinator, while also gaining general experience with new cultures and networks.     < Back Swedish National Day & Midsummer Luncheon Celebration, Saturday 6 June 2026 On Saturday, 6 June 2026, SweCham was delighted to welcome members, partners, families, and friends of the Thai–Swedish community to our Swedish National Day & Midsummer Luncheon Celebration at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok. This cherished gathering brought together guests to celebrate Swedish National Day and the joyful spirit of Midsummer, one of Sweden's most beloved traditions. The event offered a wonderful opportunity for the community to reconnect, strengthen relationships, and enjoy an afternoon filled with Swedish culture, traditions, and hospitality. The festivities began with a lively flower crown-binding activity , where guests embraced the spirit of the Swedish summer by creating beautiful floral crowns. The celebration continued with a traditional Swedish Midsummer luncheon buffet featuring classic seasonal favourites, allowing guests to experience the flavours of Swedish cuisine. One of the highlights of the afternoon was the traditional dance around the maypole, accompanied by classic Swedish summer songs. Guests enthusiastically joined in this treasured Midsummer tradition, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere filled with laughter and joyful memories. The programme also featured a Swedish–ThaiTrivia Challenge , bringing together knowledge of Sweden and Thailand in a friendly competition, followed by an exciting raffle draw with fantastic prizes generously contributed by our sponsors: Gowabi, Capella Bangkok, The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, L'Oréal, Bartels, Plaza Premium Lounge, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, Foreo, Nakhon Spa, and The Legend Chiang Rai Resort . The discussion also covered shared interests, potential collaboration opportunities, and ways to engage through SweCham’s network and corporate activities.
