< Back Sweden-Thailand Sustainable Development Forum and Networking, 30 September 2024 On 30 September 2024, the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok, Business Sweden and the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce held the Sweden-Thailand Sustainable Development Forum at the SX Sustainability Expo 2024, co-hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm. The forum served as a platform for knowledge exchange under the theme of ‘Sustainable Innovation,’ showcasing pioneering advancements aimed at promoting a more sustainable future, particularly in resource sufficiency and balanced management. This program offers you the opportunity to host an intern for approximately five months, providing them with a valuable placement within your company, offering a fantastic way to support emerging talent while gaining a fresh outlook on your business challenges and opportunities. This partnership underscores SweCham's commitment to advocacy on talent development, specifically by facilitating educational and professional growth through exchanges between Jönköping University students and the Thai-Swedish business community. < Back AI Fundamentals Workshop with System in Motion, Friday 10 October 2025 On 10 October 2025, SweCham , in collaboration with System in Motion (SIM) , successfully hosted the AI Fundamentals Workshop — an exclusive, high-impact session aimed at unlocking the power of AI text and reasoning models for business applications. Tailored specifically for professionals in Finance, Marketing, and Human Resources, the workshop provided a practical, non-technical introduction to how artificial intelligence can streamline operations, improve decision-making, and provide a competitive edge. Over the course of three intensive hours, participants were guided through five focused chapters and two practical exercises, transforming complex AI concepts into actionable business tools — all without requiring a technical background. The workshop was led by Gonzague Patinier – Trainer for Thailand & Vietnam at PPP Partners , and Mishari Muqbil – CEO of Zymple . Their expertise and hands-on guidance were instrumental in making the session both insightful and actionable, equipping attendees with the confidence and clarity to begin integrating AI into their own workflows. < Back SweCham Company Visit in Rayong Hitachi Energy x Tetra Pak, 29 February 2024 On 29 February, the SweCham team, members and members from supporting chambers had the opportunity to visit Hitachi Energy at their Rayong Business Centre. Dr. Worawut Waruttamapornsu , Country Managing Director for Thailand, introduced Hitachi Energy and their key business areas, Grid Automation, Grid Integration, High Voltage Products, and Transformers. Dr. Worawut also provided insights into the future of global electrification and sustainable energy, followed by a tour of the local facilities. We were presented with one of their High Voltage Switchgears, capable of handling up to 100,000 volts. After an insightful visit at Hitachi Energy, we were briefed by Mr. Patinya Silsupadol , Head of Sustainability at Tetra Pak Thailand. He introduced the participants to Tetra Pak 's commitment to protecting what's good, food, people, and planet. Mr. Patinya highlighted Tetra Pak key business areas Processing, Packaging and Service. With solutions and equipment for dairy, cheese, ice cream and more, as well as complete range of carton packaging for consumer products. Upon arriving at Tetra Pak's factory in Rayong, we were warmly welcomed and given a safety briefing by Mr. Jean-Marie Viard , Factory Director. They also presented their efforts towards making the factory more sustainable and energy efficient by using solar cells and other solutions for increasing energy efficiency, such as using more insulation to reduce the electricity needs for heating and cooling. Then the group was divided into two for a tour of the factory, visiting the Straw and Closure production facilities, guided by Khun Sudthisa Chooyok, OHS, and Khun Sureeporn Chongsiriluck , Factory Controller. The factory tour showcased Tetra Pak’s production, emphasising their high degree of quality control to ensure the utmost level of food safety. We would also wish to highlight the wonderful lunch that we had from the Swedish restaurant and store, Olearys.S.B.D , in Rayong, featuring genuine Swedish food which was delicious! We would like to express our sincere thanks to the teams at Hitachi Energy and Tetra Pak for their kind hospitality in hosting the company visits, and to the Sustainability Working Group for helping to arrange the visits. In 2023, Rapid Asia conducted research on ‘Decent work and responsible business practices in Thailand’s automotive manufacturing sector’ in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO). < Back Explore Thailand's Auto Industry: A Joint ILO-RAPID Asia Study on Decent Work and Responsible Business 21 Jun 2024 In 2023, Rapid Asia conducted research on ‘Decent work and responsible business practices in Thailand’s automotive manufacturing sector’ in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO). This research project thoroughly analyses Thailand’s automotive manufacturing supply chain, its status vis-à-vis decent work, and responsible business conduct. The findings highlight the global requirements for human rights due diligence and responsible business practices in global supply chains (including automotive). Meanwhile, the analysis emphasised disparities between categories in the automotive workforce and implications for the implementation of responsible business practices in the Thai automotive sector.
