The Study in Sweden and Alumni Networking Event was a success, the event started with a speech from the Swedish Ambassador, H. E. Mrs. Anna Hammargren. This was followed by presentations on studying and living in Sweden from Khun Varaporn Premsot, Cultural Officer, Embassy of Sweden, and Khun Chaidarun Tippawan, Chairperson of Sweden Alumni Network Thailand (SANT)! The universities representatives also shared information about their respective universities, including courses available, entry requirements, scholarship opportunities and accommodation. The evening concluded with networking and discussions of what to expect from student life in Sweden! At the OCSC International Education Expo 2023 last weekend, numerous students and visitors were enthusiastic to delve deeper into the prospects of studying in Sweden and explore the distinctive features of Swedish education. The atmosphere was buzzing with curiosity as attendees engaged in meaningful dialogues and gained valuable insights into the educational practices of Sweden. The students were very excited to talk to the universities represented at the Expo to gain a better understanding of program structures and the opportunities available through studying in Sweden. At both events, students were interested in scholarship opportunities, program offerings, and the overall quality of life in Sweden. Additionally, many were keen to learn about the work opportunities in Sweden post-graduation. Dr Pojanath Bhatanacharoen, Executive Director of SweCham, had the rare opportunity to attend the convention held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. < Back Highlights from the 16th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention: Insights into Thailand’s Trade Relations in Asia 28 Jun 2023 On Sunday, 25 June, Dr Pojanath Bhatanacharoen, Executive Director of SweCham, had the rare opportunity to attend the convention held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. The enlightening sessions yielded several key takeaways. According to Khun Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, China has maintained its position as Thailand’s number one trading partner for 11 consecutive years since 2013. This presents a tremendous opportunity for Thailand to attract Chinese businesses and foster investment. Khun Narit Therdsteerasukdi , the Secretary General of the Board of Investment Thailand (BOI), expressed a warm welcome to investors and highlighted the new BOI strategies and investment promotion measures. Thailand’s attractive investment environment stems from its strategic location, excellent infrastructure, strong supply chain, competitive incentives, government support, green investment policies, and competence in providing renewable energy to businesses. Additionally, the geopolitical stability of the region ensures safety and resilience. In addition to the upgraded investment promotion measures and investment stimulation measures for the economy, the BOI has introduced new programmes such as retention and expansion initiatives, relocation programmes, and social and local development programmes. These initiatives aim to further enhance the economic landscape and create a conducive environment for businesses to flourish. The committee recently completed its review, and the revised draft Act will soon be proposed to Parliament. Once approved, this new law is expected to significantly ease the process of doing business in Thailand. Additionally, Khun Wichien was appointed as a Legal Counsel to the Ordinary Committee on Consumer Protection by the House of Representatives.
