We would also like to thank Khun Daniel for hosting and steering our last budgeting session before the AGM 2023 at his office at Rapid Asia. On top of that, this gave us a great opportunity to visit Rapid Asia, our Corporate Member, and catch up with their activities in 2023. Since SweCham is a non-profit organisation, our board members are contributing to the running of the Chamber voluntarily. We are very grateful for our board members’ input and contribution to our activities and projects. This week, the SweCham team visited our Member, ABB Thailand, at their new Head Office located at the Q. House Lumpini Building. < Back SweCham Team Started This Year’s Member Visit at ABB Thailand 9 Feb 2024 This week, the SweCham team visited our Member, ABB Thailand, at their new Head Office located at the Q. House Lumpini Building. We were warmly welcomed by Khun Palin Pornprasertsuk (Country Commercial Leader Thailand), Khun Tenzing Bomratsang (Country Holding Officer), Khun Nirundorn Chaovanapricha (Business Development Manager), and Khun Weerachai Uthaiphetra (Legal Counsel), who also provided us with a tour of their impressive new facilities. The visit offered us a valuable opportunity to gain deeper insights into ABB Thailand's four key business areas: Electrification, Motion, Process Automation, as well as Robotics and Discrete Automation. We were particularly impressed to learn about their involvement in supplying advanced solutions to diverse sectors across Thailand, including transportation, power plants, commercial buildings, utilities, and many more sectors. Furthermore, we shared information about SweCham’s activities and projects, such as our advocacy work, events, members’ initiatives, etc. The discussions also explored potential avenues for future collaboration between our organisations. Last Friday (Friyay), our SweCham team had a fantastic fika before the weekend! < Back SweCham Team Fika 22 Feb 2023 It was the perfect way to wind down after a busy week and connect with our colleagues. We gathered around the coffee table and indulged in a delicious Swedish treat, the classic ‘Prinsesstårta’. This cake is a masterpiece of sponge cake layers, vanilla custard, raspberry jam, and whipped cream, all covered in a layer of bright green marzipan. It was not only a feast for the taste buds but also for the eyes. Lastly, it was a fun and sweet way to connect with our team and kick off the weekend!!! Swedes love their Fika and it is an integral part of the Swedish culture, especially in the workplace as it gives everyone a break from a busy workday and a chance to chat about non-work-related topics. Swedes have Fika with friends and family as well, in Swedish culture there is always time for a Fika!! Previous Next

The workshop was hosted by Khun Ureerat Chareontoh, Director General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and facilitated by Dr. Rolf Schwarz, Senior Outreach Specialist from OECD. Several JFCCT Board members and representatives of the embassies, Board of Trade, and foreign chambers of commerce in Thailand, joined the Reunion together with distinguished guests within the business community. The event started with welcoming remarks by the JFCCT Chairwoman, Mrs Vibeke Lyssand Leirvåg, introducing the JFCCT members and the newly elected JFCCT Vice Chairs, Dr Supareak Charlie Chomchan and Mr Ravi Sehgal. Moreover, a keynote speech was given by Mr Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand. As the event provided a space for all guests to mingle and network, everyone had the chance to reconnect and discuss future collaborations between the foreign chambers in Thailand. SweCham had the opportunity to be part of a thought-provoking event, RBHR Forum < Back UN RBHR Forum 2023 Turning Commitments into Tangible Actions for Better World 9 Jun 2023 On 6 June, SweCham team had the opportunity to join the 5th Asia-Pacific United Nations Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum (RBHR Forum) being held from 6-9 June 2023 at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. The Forum is co-organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO), International Organization for Migration (IOM), Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), and the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights (UNWG). In addition, the Forum offered us a chance to meet with a wide range of stakeholders in Asia-Pacific and gain knowledge of responsible business practices and corporate accountability in the region. It also sheds light on critical issues, challenges, and sectors that demand actions from the business and human rights community. On this occasion, SweCham team is very pleased to participate in this captivating Forum. We always seize the opportunity to be part of thought-provoking events to help create a future grounded in responsibility and equality, along with helping create value for society and businesses in the SweCham community!
