- Business Climate Survey For Swedish Companies In Thailand 2022 | SweCham
< Back Business Climate Survey For Swedish Companies In Thailand 2022 Team Sweden conducted a business climate survey among Swedish companies in Thailand in May 2022. Team Sweden conducted a business climate survey among Swedish companies in Thailand in May of 2022 to ascertain how Swedish companies performed in 2021 as well as their expectations for 2022 and onwards. The survey, led by Business Sweden and supported by the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok, provides an opportunity for Swedish companies in Thailand to share their valuable opinions on business-related issues. The 2022 Business Climate Survey results indicated that Swedish companies have not been unaffected by a more difficult business climate during the last three years. The turnover expectations in Thailand are currently showcasing a strong positive outlook towards the future. Of the surveyed companies, 77 per cent believe their turnover will increase slightly or significantly in the upcoming 12 months. In summary, the finding concluded that the Swedish industry in Thailand is doing well from a purely financial point of view, but it is not a market without its challenges and shortcomings. - From Songkran's Splashes to Påsk's Delights: Embracing the Holiday Season!
As the vibrant splashes of Songkran, the traditional Thai New Year, fade into cherished memories, a new season of reflection and joy dawns in Sweden with the arrival of Påsk (Easter). < Back From Songkran's Splashes to Påsk's Delights: Embracing the Holiday Season! 18 Apr 2025 From Songkran's Splashes to Påsk's Delights: Embracing the Holiday Season in Sweden As the vibrant splashes of Songkran , the traditional Thai New Year, fade into cherished memories, a new season of reflection and joy dawns in Sweden with the arrival of Påsk (Easter). For our Swedish members and friends in Thailand, this transition from the lively Thai festivities to the contemplative yet festive Swedish Easter offers a unique perspective on cultural celebrations and the universal joy of holidays. Långfredagen (Good Friday), observed this year on 18 April , marks a significant day in the Christian calendar, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. In Sweden, it is traditionally a day of quiet reflection. Many businesses may have adjusted hours, and the atmosphere is generally more subdued. It's a time for introspection and spending peaceful moments with family. However, the solemnity of Långfredagen gives way to the anticipation and joy of the Easter weekend in Sweden . Swedish Easter traditions ( Påsk traditions ), celebrated on Sunday, 20 April , are a delightful blend of religious observance and charming folk customs. Here are a few highlights of Swedish Easter celebrations : Easter Eggs (Påskägg): Just as children (and adults!) eagerly anticipate Songkran water fights and receiving blessings, the excitement around Påskägg is palpable in Sweden. These brightly decorated eggs, often filled with candy and small treats, are hidden for children to find on Easter Sunday . This playful tradition adds a touch of magic to the holiday. Easter Witches (Påskkärringar): Keep an eye out for little "witches" with painted faces and colorful scarves! On Maundy Thursday (the Thursday before Good Friday), children often dress up as påskkärringar and go door-to-door, offering handmade drawings or greetings in exchange for a small treat – a charming parallel to the spirit of sharing and goodwill we experience during Songkran. Easter Decorations: Homes are often adorned with yellow and green decorations, feathers, and of course, birch twigs decorated with colorful feathers ( påskris ). These vibrant touches bring a sense of spring and renewal, echoing the fresh beginnings celebrated during Songkran. Easter Feast (Påskbord): Similar to the gatherings and special meals enjoyed during Songkran, the Swedish Easter table ( Påskbord ) is a feast for the senses. Traditional dishes often include pickled herring ( sill ), salmon ( lax ), potatoes, and the tempting Janssons frestelse (a creamy potato and anchovy gratin). Lamb is also a popular main course during Easter in Sweden. Celebrating Easter in Bangkok For those celebrating Easter in Bangkok, you have delightful opportunities to experience the taste of an Easter Feast right here! Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok invites you to their Easter Brunch on Sunday, 20 April 2025 , from 12:00 to 15:00 at Stock.Room . Adding to the festive fun, children can become "Little Sherlock Holmes" detectives and unearth Easter Egg treasures during the Morning Hunt (11:30 to 12:30) and Afternoon Hunt (14:00 to 15:00) at Studio 4 on the 6th floor. Chatrium Grande Bangkok is also hosting an Easter Brunch on Sunday, 20 April 2025 , offering a special 20% discount (excluding beverages). Please note that direct advance reservation with the hotel is required and subject to availability. The Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce wishes all our members and friends a peaceful Långfredagen and a joyful Påsk filled with warmth and delightful Swedish traditions ! Previous Next

- Warm Welcome to our new Member, DOSE Athletic!
SweCham would like to welcome DOSE Athletic as our new SweCham Member. < Back Warm Welcome to our new Member, DOSE Athletic! 4 Apr 2023 Last week, we had a chance to visit our new Start-Up Member DOSE Athletic and met with Khun Stefan Szot, the founder and CEO. As someone who enjoys exercise and physical activities, Khun Stefan truly understands what works best for his customers. At DOSE Athletic, sports apparel is designed to maximise customers’ performance using the latest technology. In addition, it was really great to learn more about the numerous features that come with DOSE products, especially polygiene. With polygiene technology, DOSE products are more hygienic and smell-less, meaning they need less washing and are longer-lasting, driving a sustainability revolution. DOSE Athletic believes that good designs for sports apparel should be experienced from their sweat-wicking material and anti-bacterial treatment. Their philosophy is to produce products of high quality that will last rather than be replaced. Moreover, they created their design principles to integrate performance, versatility, and durability to cater to a new generation of high-performing individuals. During our conversation, Khun Stefan shared upcoming projects of DOSE Athletic, such as women’s collections and future projects involved in animal charity and welfare. This opportunity also provided us to see how SweCham and DOSE Athletic can collaborate in the future. SweCham looks forward to having lots of great collaborations with you! - Breakfast Seminar: Managing your IP in a world full of AI and other Digital Technologies, 6 February 2024
< Back Breakfast Seminar: Managing your IP in a world full of AI and other Digital Technologies, 6 February 2024 On the morning of 6 February, SweCham and the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk with support with the JFCCT and EABC had the pleasure of hosting a seminar on managing your IP in a world full of digital technologies, with everything from Machine learning, Generative AI, Neural Networks and NFTs being discussed and presented. The morning started with breakfast and networking, at the wonderful Oriental Residence Bangkok Hotel . We were welcomed into a luxurious environment that was perfect for the seminar. The seminar started with a warm welcome from our Executive Director, Dr. Pojanath Bhatanacharoen. We were also honoured by having Mr. Bob Fox , Chair of Digital Economy/ICT group of JFCCT and EABC, as the moderator, who gave us a comprehensive overview of the AI landscape and introduced us to our two experts of the day. The first presentation came from Khun Mook Chaichirawiwat , Country Manager, Thinking Machines Data Science , who gave us an in-depth look at how AI works. Highlighting when AI was first introduced and how the change from relatively harmless software to a powerful tool used in most businesses, and now also by individuals! The second presentation was from Mr. Franck Fougere , Managing Partner at Ananda Intellectual Property , who detailed how IP rights apply to AI-generated content. As a machine cannot be held liable and hold IP protection, the issue of who owns the IP from AI generated content can be complex one. He brought up potential liabilities of using AI, such as can you trust the company that provides the AI to not train its AI on your company data? Khun Franck highlighted the importance of having control over your data and how you utilise your data, as to reduce potential liability, in the creation of content or products that might need IP protection. The seminar ended with a brief panel discussion led by Khun Bob, where the experts answered multiple different questions in the line of, what are the limitations of AI and IP, where will liability be when AI tools are used for illegal purposes such as scams. We would also like to thank the supporting chambers and organisations for their support of the event. Finally, we would like to warmly thank everyone who came to the seminar. If you have any questions or need assistance with your IP, please get in touch with the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk, https://intellectual-property-helpdesk.ec.europa.eu/regional-helpdesks/south-east-asia-ip-sme-helpdesk_en Click here for the Full Photo Book!
