On 25 June, 2024, Business Sweden hosted the ‘Pioneer the Possible Thailand 2024: Green Production’ event at True Digital Park. < Back Pioneer the Possible: Green Production 27 Jun 2024 On 25 June, 2024, Business Sweden hosted the ‘Pioneer the Possible Thailand 2024: Green Production’ event at True Digital Park. The event began with opening speeches by Mrs. Anna Jakenberg Brinck, Chargé d'Affaires, at the Embassy of Sweden, and Mr. Kacper Pierzynowski, Trade Commissioner of Sweden to Thailand followed by a keynote speech by Mrs. Siripen Kiatfuengfoo, Deputy Director General, Office of Industrial Economics (OIE), Ministry of Industry. All emphasised the importance of international cooperation in advancing sustainable manufacturing. The discussions throughout the morning focused on driving sustainable manufacturing through Thai-Swedish collaboration. A significant portion of the dialogue revolved around the promotion of green production methods. Speakers highlighted innovative approaches to manufacturing that aim to minimise environmental impact. These included setting clear goals and targets for your organisations, kick-starting a monitoring process to measure progress, using renewable energy sources including solar panel in factories, and encouraging green supply chain by working with suppliers to improve their standards. Their insights provided a roadmap for companies looking to transition to more sustainable practices. The Thai-Swedish collaboration was manifested further in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between Business Sweden and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). The aim is to work together to achieve carbon neutrality through promoting the green transition in the areas of green production, green mobility, and Energy transition. SweCham team joined the public seminar on ‘How to prevent LGBTQI+ discrimination and harassment in the workplace’ co-hosted by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok. < Back Embassy of Sweden and BMA are raising LGBTQI+ Awareness in the Workplace 19 Jun 2023 On 14 June, SweCham team joined the public seminar on ‘How to prevent LGBTQI+ discrimination and harassment in the workplace’ co-hosted by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok. The seminar was opened to the public. People from distinguished organisations joined to gain more knowledge and actively share their perspectives in this area. On this occasion, the Bangkok governor, Mr Chadchart Sittipunt, and the Ambassador of Sweden, H.E. Mr Jon Åström Gröndahl, gave welcoming speeches. Additionally, this public seminar was moderated by our executive director, Dr Pojanath Bhatanacharoen. At the seminar, Ms Ulla Perman, Development Officer, Development and Analysis Unit, Equality Ombudsman, explained what LGBTQI+ discrimination and harassment in the workplace is and shared with everyone ways to prevent it. Attendees also learned more about the guiding principles for organisations to prevent LGBTQI+ discrimination and harassment in the workplace presented by Mr Karl Yves Vallin, Managing Director, Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Rights (RFSL). In addition, Mr Christian Dassonville, Country Human Resource Manager, IKEA Thailand, shared that an inclusive workplace helps employees become more productive, which also benefits the business. As part of the LGBTQI+ community, James (Rusameekae) Fagerlund, a celebrity in Thailand, also shared his experience and perspectives regarding LGBTQI+ visibility, discrimination, and harassment. As the seminar was opened to the public, people within the LGBTQI+ community received an opportunity to discuss issues regarding discrimination and harassment. After six years of dedicated service as the Executive Director of the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce (Swecham), Dr. Pojanath has now resigned to continue her career in Taiwan. < Back Farewell to SweCham’s Outgoing Executive Director, Dr. Pojanath Bhatanacharoen 27 Sept 2024 After six years of dedicated service as the Executive Director of the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce (Swecham), Dr. Pojanath has now resigned to continue her career in Taiwan. During her six-year tenure as the Executive Director, Dr. Pojanath has been instrumental in enhancing the business and industrial ties between Sweden and Thailand. Her dedicated efforts have greatly contributed to strengthening Swedish trade relations in the region and supported the Thai-Swedish business community. Through her vision and initiative, numerous successful projects and partnerships focused on sustainability, education, and business networking were established, promoting closer economic collaboration and shared prosperity between the two nations. Dr. Pojanath’s leadership has brought SweCham to new heights in digitalisation and office process improvements, among other achievements. She has also set an excellent example for employees and stakeholders with her high ambitions and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
