This special event introduced Friends of Thai Daughters (FTD) , a non-profit organisation committed to protecting girls in Northern Thailand from human trafficking by providing safe shelter, education, and opportunities for a better future. We were honoured to have opening remarks from Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey , the UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand . Following the FTD presentation, Ms. Jane F. McBride , Co-founder and Executive Director, shared the organisation’s mission, key achievements, and the ongoing challenges they face. Ms . Pitchaya “Mee” Aryi , Country Director, shared her experience as the first daughter to have the opportunity to join the FTD programme. Ms . Sarah Jowett , Director of Corporate Partnerships, also delivered a compelling presentation. The attendees gained valuable insights into how FTD empowers at-risk girls to become educated, independent, and self-confident young women, and the long-term positive impact of their programmes. After the presentation, guests continued to network and engage in meaningful conversations while enjoying a delicious breakfast buffet and refreshments. < Back Sweden Pavilion at the OCSC International Education Expo 2025, Sat-Sun 15-16 November 2025 From 15 - 16 November 2025, the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce (SweCham) , in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok , proudly presented the Sweden Pavilion in the OCSC International Education Expo 2025 , welcoming a large number of students, parents, educators, and young professionals eager to learn about studying in one of the world’s most innovative and forward-thinking countries. Exploring Study Opportunities in Sweden Over the two-day expo, visitors had the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from KTH Royal Institute of Technology , Uppsala University , and the Swedish Institute (SI) . Attendees learned about a wide range of academic programmes, scholarship options, student life, research pathways, and career prospects across Sweden’s renowned education and innovation ecosystem. The pavilion served as a valuable information hub where prospective students could explore Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD opportunities while gaining practical insights into application timelines, funding options, and preparations for studying abroad. This year’s participation was made possible through strong collaboration with our partners - the Sweden Alumni Network in Thailand (SANT) , shared their authentic experiences of studying and living in Sweden, helping visitors understand the academic culture, everyday life, and the personal and professional growth that studying in Sweden offers. The event also featured engaging discussions and one-on-one consultations, giving participants the chance to connect directly with experts, ask questions, and receive personalised guidance. < Back SweCham Business Connect, 5 September 2024 SweCham Business Connect was a highly engaging event that brought together professionals from various industries. Let us recap the key highlights and share insights from this successful gathering! On the evening of Thursday, 5 September, SweCham was delighted to host its first networking event following the summer break. The event began with a welcoming remark from our president, Khun Peter Björk, who thanked our members and partners for their ongoing support. This was then followed by an introduction from our hotel partner, Eastin Grand hotel Sathorn , represented by General Manager Khun Chutima Kaewta Fortescue. Following the introductory remarks, SweCham had the pleasure of welcoming Secretary General Khun Narit Therdsteerasukdi from the Board of Investment (BOI) as our special speaker of the evening. With over two decades of experience in investment promotion and economic policy, Khun Narit delivered an insightful presentation on Thailand's investment environment. The presentation provided a thorough overview of key factors that will influence investment trends over the next five years and outlined how the BOI can support foreign investors in this context. Furthermore, SweCham’s Executive Director, Khun Dr. Pojanath Bhatanacharoen, had arranged for audience questions in advance, creating an opportunity for an open Q&A session with Khun Narit and other BOI representatives. It was the perfect opportunity to delve deeper into the topics discussed, allowing attendees to gain further insights in Thailand’s economic landscape. The evening welcomed a vibrant mix of executives, entrepreneurs, and sustainability professionals from across Bangkok’s international business community. The modern and welcoming IKEA setting provided an inspiring backdrop for lively conversations, new introductions, and cross-industry exchanges, while guests enjoyed a selection of drinks and cocktail-style refreshments. To begin the session, Dr. Kobkullaya Chuengprasertsri, Head Director of the Premiere Life Center, offered warm opening remarks highlighting the importance of proactive health awareness and the growing shift toward preventive medical practices. The keynote session was led by Dr. Poonyanuch Chongjaroenjai , Specialist at the Premiere Life Center, who presented insights into functional lab testing and how personalised diagnostic approaches can help individuals better understand their health baselines and risk indicators. Participants learned how preventive medicine and early detection strategies play a vital role in supporting longevity, vitality, and overall well-being. This seminar reflects the ongoing collaboration between SweCham and Phyathai 2 Hospital, which aims to support the community with accessible health knowledge, practical wellness tools, and platforms for meaningful dialogue between healthcare experts and the public. On 25 May, the SweCham Business Connect with Camfil Thailand was successfully organised by SweCham in collaboration with Camfil Thailand at Rembrandt Bangkok Hotel & Suites. The event provided attendees with valuable insights into indoor air quality and Camfil’s Chief Airgonomics Officer initiative, along with fostering meaningful networking opportunities. At the event, Khun Kongkiat Teekamongkol, Managing Director of Camfil Thailand, delivered a captivating presentation on the importance of indoor air quality. Every year, air pollution is one of the issues faced by people in Thailand. We spend up to 90% of our life indoors, and indoor air pollution can substantially influence our health. Moreover, air pollution is also a risk factor for asthma, cancer, cardiovascular disease, amongst other respiratory diseases. This led to why we need a Chief Airgonomics Officer (CAO), the Voice of Clean Air in our workplace, who oversees indoor air quality to protect our health, environment, and well-being. By having the CAO, we can ensure that our employees feel safe when they come to work, which improves their productivity. In addition, this initiative also benefits our planet as it helps minimise air pollution.
