SweCham had the opportunity to be part of a thought-provoking event, RBHR Forum < Back UN RBHR Forum 2023 Turning Commitments into Tangible Actions for Better World 9 Jun 2023 On 6 June, SweCham team had the opportunity to join the 5th Asia-Pacific United Nations Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum (RBHR Forum) being held from 6-9 June 2023 at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. The Forum is co-organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO), International Organization for Migration (IOM), Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), and the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights (UNWG). In addition, the Forum offered us a chance to meet with a wide range of stakeholders in Asia-Pacific and gain knowledge of responsible business practices and corporate accountability in the region. It also sheds light on critical issues, challenges, and sectors that demand actions from the business and human rights community. On this occasion, SweCham team is very pleased to participate in this captivating Forum. Last Tuesday, SweCham, Sasin School of Management, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), and Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce (NTCC) came together to foster a sustainable future through collaborative efforts. < Back Exciting Collaboration for a Sustainable MICE Industry! 7 Mar 2024 Last Tuesday, SweCham, Sasin School of Management , Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) , and Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce (NTCC) came together to foster a sustainable future through collaborative efforts. In addition, we held a productive meeting to discuss potential collaborations for a sustainability event this year. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for us to share our ongoing sustainability projects and explore potential avenues for collaboration. Notably, TCEB has been dedicated to promoting sustainable practices within the MICE industry. They plan to host events showcasing initiatives undertaken by private organisations, aiming to raise awareness and encourage the adoption of sustainable event practices among their staff and representatives from other public organisations in Thailand. Moreover, Sasin School of Management, renowned for their impactful graduates and dedication to sustainable business practices, emerged as a perfect partner for this project. Their expertise and commitment to sustainability align perfectly with TCEB's goal to advance their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda within the MICE industry. On 22 April, the SweCham team visited our member, NIST International School, in which we were warmly welcomed by Dr James Dalziel (Head of School) and Khun Yvonne Trisynthia (Director of Engagement). < Back SweCham Team visited the NIST International School 25 Apr 2024 On 22 April, the SweCham team visited our member, NIST International School, in which we were warmly welcomed by Dr James Dalziel (Head of School) and Khun Yvonne Trisynthia (Director of Engagement). The visit provided us with a valuable opportunity to discuss potential collaborations that could benefit NIST students academically and share Swedish higher education options among students. Furthermore, we gained insights into their learning programme, contributing to the school’s reputation for academic excellence for several decades. Khun Yvonne also provided a small tour of the school for us to explore their World Language classrooms and Black Box Theatre. We were very excited to see the Swedish language classroom, filled with Swedish books and games, where students could experience and embark on their Swedish language journey directly with a Swedish teacher. Additionally, their campus is also undergoing a redevelopment plan for their new Pavilion Building, set to be completed in 2025, to meet the future needs of the NIST community.
