    Tetra Pak has joined the PRO-Thailand Network to initiate change towards more sustainable packaging. < Back Tetra Pak Champions Sustainable Packaging with the PRO-Thailand Network 14 Jul 2023 Tetra Pak is taking on a vital role in the effort to change sustainability practices within the packaging industry. Tetra Pak has joined the Packaging Recovery Organization Thailand Network (PRO-Thailand Network) to focus on and initiate change towards more sustainable packaging, with the goal of ultimately fostering a circular economy in Thailand. The initiative draws attention to the need for a shift in the packaging industry. Its aim is to transition the market from single-use, non-recyclable consumer products such as PET bottles, used beverage cartons, and multilayered products to products that can be responsibly managed throughout their entire lifecycle. To succeed in creating this change, they highlight the need for close collaboration between various organizations, government agencies, businesses, and the wider society to create change through PRO-Thailand Network. Tetra Pak and the other members of PRO-Thailand Network are making a clear statement that the circular economy is a part of the future and that their products will not only have one lifespan but be circular.     The seminar, co-hosted by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT) focused on strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors in the fight against corruption.  < Back Fostering Transparency with the NACC and JFCCT 23 Jun 2025 The seminar, co-hosted by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT) on 23 June 2025, at the Swissôtel Bangkok, focused on strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors in the fight against corruption. The purpose of the event was to promote dialogue between the NACC and foreign private businesses operating in Thailand, with the aim of fostering greater transparency and accountability. It served as a platform to openly address ongoing corruption issues—such as the solicitation and acceptance of bribes by government officials—and to gather practical recommendations and strategies for improvement. These insights are intended to support the NACC in its role as Thailand’s leading anti-corruption agency. The seminar featured an open and informative panel discussion on the NACC’s current initiatives and the important work being done to enhance integrity within public sector operations. A strong emphasis was placed on how the private sector can actively contribute to these efforts, highlighting the value of ongoing public-private collaboration.   • Ericsson committed to driving Thailand’s 5G leadership and Industry 4.0 Vision

    Ericsson plans to use their technology to drive Thailand towards 5G leadership. < Back Ericsson committed to driving Thailand’s 5G leadership and Industry 4.0 Vision 21 Jun 2023 According to Igor Maurell, Head of Ericsson Thailand, ‘Thailand is one of the countries at the forefront of 5G technology.’ Data consumption in Thailand has been increasing in the past few years and it is predicted to increase in the coming years as well. Many Thai customers are ready for 5G network and Ericsson’s technology will be able to deliver a quality and secure network that Thai Communications Service Providers (CSPs) can provide to their customers. Ericsson can also modernise their technology to be more energy saving which will be good for the CSPs and the country. Ericsson is currently collaborating with multiple partners to develop 5G technology. The company is collaborating with the Thai government to develop 5G eco-system in the country and with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) to develop Thailand’s version of Silicon Valley. Additionally, they are also collaborating with Intel. Together, the two companies will use cases combined with their expertise to demonstrate how Thailand’s CSPs can be improved.     < Back SweCham Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2024, 21 March 2024 On 21 March, SweCham held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) followed by networking drinks and a delicious dinner. At the AGM, we presented SweCham’s activities over the past year, including a recap of projects and a financial update, followed by the election of board governors. A big congratulation to Mr. Peter Björk who was re-elected for his fifth term as President by the SweCham Board! The evening continued with a post-meeting dinner. We were honoured to have been joined by Khun Anoma Vongyai, Director of Europe Market Division Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), who shared with us updates on the current tourism situation in Thailand and the new strategies to attract quality tourists to Thailand, to promote and support the Thai economy. The new TAT policies focus on eco-friendly tourism and more high-end tourists, aiming to raise the revenue from tourism, based on quality and value! We would like to extend our warm thanks to Khun Anoma Vongyai for the interesting presentation that generated many questions from the floor and a very dynamic discussion. Guests enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner accompanied by exquisite wine, and we would like to give big thanks to our Event Partner the Rembrandt Hotel and Suites for their warm hospitality and excellent facilities.
