The panel discussion on the topic ‘Long Term Resident Visa in Thailand’ was led by the Secretary General of BOI, Khun Narit Therdsteerasukdi, along with Khun Dhinapa Apaivongse, Senior Investment Promotion officer, who provided valuable insights into the latest developments, requirements, and benefits of the visa. The luncheon not only offered the chance to acquire valuable knowledge but also provided an opportunity for participants to network with similar-minded individuals and government officials. On 17 September 2024, we were honoured to be invited to the official launch of our 5G Innovation and Experience Studio < Back SweCham was thrilled to participate in the official launch of Ericsson 5G Innovation and Experience Studio at Thaliland Digital Valley (TDV) in Sri Racha, Chon buri! 17 Sept 2024 On 17 September 2024, we were honoured to be invited to the official launch of our 5G Innovation and Experience Studio, which took place at Thailand Digital Valley (TDV) in Sri Racha! This event marks a significant milestone in the Ericsson partnership with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa). Ericsson Thailand recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in advancing 5G-based digital transformation in Thailand. The collaboration focuses on sharing best practices, enhancing technological understanding, and leveraging Ericsson’s state-of-the-art innovations to support Thailand’s journey toward becoming a leading digital economy. We were thrilled to take a tour inside the lab designed to serve as a 5G co-creation space, featuring Ericsson’s state-of-the-art 5G sandbox network. The 5G technology was applied to a wide range of cases including autonomous mobile robots, Digital Airspace, inventory inspection, a wearable 360-degree CCTV, and many more! This initiative, supported by Japan External trade Organization (JETRO), aims to elevate treatment planning quality, fostering improved clinical outcomes for diverse cancer cases through an educational program in Thailand, powered by a sustainable cloud platform. With a sharp focus on prevalent cancer types like Cervical, Breast, Lung, and Liver, SPECTRA is set to make a significant impact on cancer care. We were honoured to have our President, Mr. Peter Björk, and Executive Director Dr. Pojanath Bhatanacharoen, present insights on Cancer Care in Sweden at this momentous occasion. Supporting a Swedish company dedicated to such a vital cause is a privilege, knowing the far-reaching positive effects it will have on people's well-being. This event, organised by MedPark Hospital, celebrated the hospital's third anniversary amid the beautiful landscape of Benjakitti Park. The event brought together a talented ensemble of artists and performers, featuring Yannick Bovy, an acclaimed Belgian vocalist known worldwide, along with well-known Thai artists, including May Fonpa and Tom Itsara, joined by the RSU Symphony Orchestra, under the musical direction of Prof. Dr. Den Euprasert, a highly distinguished music scholar with expertise in multiple music genres. She is currently studying at Mahidol University International College (MUIC), majoring in International Relations and Global Affairs , where she has developed a strong interest in global cooperation, communications, and the work of international organizations. During her time at SweCham, Chanantida supports our social media activities, helps organize events, and contributes to member communications. She’s also involved in administrative tasks and project coordination, playing a key role in keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly. Through this experience, she’s gaining hands-on insight into international business, chamber operations, and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic, multicultural environment. Chanantida is passionate about learning, exploring new perspectives, and stepping outside her comfort zone. This week, the SweCham team visited our Member, ABB Thailand, at their new Head Office located at the Q. House Lumpini Building. We were warmly welcomed by Khun Palin Pornprasertsuk (Country Commercial Leader Thailand), Khun Tenzing Bomratsang (Country Holding Officer), Khun Nirundorn Chaovanapricha (Business Development Manager), and Khun Weerachai Uthaiphetra (Legal Counsel), who also provided us with a tour of their impressive new facilities. The visit offered us a valuable opportunity to gain deeper insights into ABB Thailand's four key business areas: Electrification, Motion, Process Automation, as well as Robotics and Discrete Automation. We were particularly impressed to learn about their involvement in supplying advanced solutions to diverse sectors across Thailand, including transportation, power plants, commercial buildings, utilities, and many more sectors.
