< Back Port Visit with GEODIS, Wednesday 17 September 2025 On 17 September 2025, the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce (SweCham), in collaboration with the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce, had the pleasure of joining an exclusive Port Visit with GEODIS at Laem Chabang, Chonburi. This unique experience offered our members a behind-the-scenes look at the vital logistics infrastructure that powers international trade in Thailand. The day began early with a warm welcome and refreshments at the GEODIS Head Office in Bangkok, before attendees departed for Laem Chabang. Upon arrival at the GEODIS Free Zone Warehouse, we were greeted with opening remarks by Ms. Anna Olsson Moore, Executive Director of SweCham, followed by a welcome speech from Mr. Yigit Saricinar , Managing Director of GEODIS Thailand. The program continued with a series of insightful presentations that deepened participants' understanding of the logistics operations and infrastructure in the Free Zone. Mrs. Busaraporn Chaitha, Customs Brokerage Manager, provided a detailed overview of the customs clearance process, followed by a Q&A session about the Free Zone Warehouse. We also learned about GEODIS’s road network and contract logistics from Mrs. Rossukon Khamhomkul, offering valuable insights into how GEODIS ensures efficient and reliable goods movement across the country. Following a group photo to commemorate the warehouse visit, the delegation proceeded to enjoy a delicious Thai lunch at Pa Wan – Ao Udom Restaurant, which was a delightful moment of networking and relaxation. In the afternoon, the group visited the Laem Chabang Port – Siam Commercial Seaport, where Mr. Nirutsai Buchachanok, Ocean Freight Manager at GEODIS, gave an introduction to the port operations. This was followed by an engaging presentation from Siam Commercial Seaport, showcasing the port’s critical role in Thailand's international trade. The day concluded with a memorable group photo, and a safe return to Bangkok, leaving all participants enriched with new knowledge and meaningful connections. We extend our sincere gratitude to the entire GEODIS team for their warm hospitality, professionalism, and generous knowledge sharing throughout the day. It was truly a rewarding experience, and we look forward to embarking on many more collaborative journeys together in the future. Click here to explore the photo book! Follow us on Social Media! - Preventing Colon Cancer with Early Detection: AI-Assisted Colonoscopy
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, and its incidence continues to rise, particularly among younger adults. < Back Preventing Colon Cancer with Early Detection: AI-Assisted Colonoscopy 9 Apr 2025 Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, and its incidence continues to rise, particularly among younger adults. However, early detection significantly improves survival rates and reduces the risk of developing advanced-stage cancer. Why Early Detection Matters Research shows that 90% of colon cancers originate from harmless polyps, which can be detected and removed before they become cancerous. Since colon cancer often presents no symptoms in its early stages, regular screenings are essential. Colonoscopy remains the most effective screening method, as it not only detects abnormalities but also allows for the immediate removal of polyps in the same procedure—offering both preventive and treatment benefits for better patient outcomes. Although colorectal cancer is traditionally associated with older adults, younger individuals often underestimate their risk due to the misconception that it is solely an age-related disease. As a result, CRC screening is now recommended starting at age 45. Individuals can begin with a fecal occult blood test as a non-invasive initial screening method. Advancements in Screening Technology At Samitivej, we utilize EndoBRAIN-EYE , an AI-assisted colonoscopy system, combined with Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) to enhance screening accuracy. Developed in collaboration with Sano Hospital in Japan, this technology enables real-time analysis of colonoscopy images, helping doctors detect even the smallest abnormalities for a more precise diagnosis. Why Choose Early Screening with AI-Assisted Colonoscopy? 1.5x Higher Detection Accuracy – Ensures early-stage issues are identified and effectively managed. Reduces Colon Cancer Risk by Over 60% – Polyps can be removed before they develop into cancer. 20x Lower Treatment Costs – Prevents the need for expensive, advanced-stage treatments. By prioritizing early screenings and recognizing risks early, we can reduce the impact of colon cancer and improve health outcomes. Don’t wait for symptoms—early detection is the key to prevention and saving lives.
