    This week, the SweCham team visited our Member, ABB Thailand, at their new Head Office located at the Q. House Lumpini Building. < Back SweCham Team Started This Year’s Member Visit at ABB Thailand 9 Feb 2024 This week, the SweCham team visited our Member, ABB Thailand, at their new Head Office located at the Q. House Lumpini Building. We were warmly welcomed by Khun Palin Pornprasertsuk (Country Commercial Leader Thailand), Khun Tenzing Bomratsang (Country Holding Officer), Khun Nirundorn Chaovanapricha (Business Development Manager), and Khun Weerachai Uthaiphetra (Legal Counsel), who also provided us with a tour of their impressive new facilities. The visit offered us a valuable opportunity to gain deeper insights into ABB Thailand's four key business areas: Electrification, Motion, Process Automation, as well as Robotics and Discrete Automation. We were particularly impressed to learn about their involvement in supplying advanced solutions to diverse sectors across Thailand, including transportation, power plants, commercial buildings, utilities, and many more sectors. Furthermore, we shared information about SweCham’s activities and projects, such as our advocacy work, events, members’ initiatives, etc. The discussions also explored potential avenues for future collaboration between our organisations.   • Swedish community welcomes Olof and Marie back to Bangkok

    After living abroad for many years, including six years in Brazil and five years in Florida to name some destinations, Olof and Marie have now landed in Bangkok. < Back Swedish community welcomes Olof and Marie back to Bangkok 1 Jun 2023 After living abroad for many years, including six years in Brazil and five years in Florida to name some destinations, Olof and Marie have now landed in Bangkok. For over a decade, they have been serving the Swedish Church community all over the world. Olof and Marie are not only here for Thailand, but for the whole southeast Asia including Japan. They have returned here for many reasons and have many tasks to fulfil, including finding the Swedes and rebuilding the Swedish Church community after the pandemic. The geographical situation may also vary, and some places may be filled with interested individuals while some other places may not be. Olof and Marie will be here for three to four years and welcome everyone for a cheerful talk or just a meeting to talk about problems or any other topics. Diners can experience Chef Nuch’s unique culinary vision: a self-taught cook deeply connected to her Suphan Buri home province northwest of Bangkok, she creates flavour-punching dishes that showcase Suphan Buri's traditional foraged ingredients and the abundance of its rice-farming landscape. Moreover, Chef Nuch is currently the reigning and most recent Winning Challenger Chef who triumphed on Iron Chef Thailand. Chef Nuch's culinary artistry, honed over two decades in Bangkok's prestigious kitchens and rooted in her personal Thai background, is on full display in her Tasting Menu. Over the years, Khun Nat has gained valuable experience through a variety of roles, each contributing to her professional development. Her background spans both the education and corporate sectors, allowing her to cultivate a broad skillset in administration, HR, and cross-cultural coordination. Fluent in both Thai and English and possessing a background in law, Nat is well-equipped to handle diverse responsibilities, ranging from paperwork and vendor coordination to student support and liaison with government agencies. Known for her thoughtful and steady approach, she is often the go-to person for ensuring tasks are completed effectively. A particularly proud achievement for her was leading the establishment of a foreign-owned company's inaugural office in Thailand. Despite a tight two-week timeframe, she successfully delivered a fully operational workspace on schedule. Khun Nat is passionate about learning, problem-solving, and collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds. She believes in the power of effective systems to empower everyone to perform their best work, a mindset she is eager to bring to her new role.     SweCham Team was invited to the Swedish Group in Bangkok (Svenskgruppen Bangkok) to give a presentation during the weekly gathering. < Back Presentation for the Swedish Group in Bangkok 2 May 2023 On 18 April, the SweCham Team was invited to the Swedish Group in Bangkok (Svenskgruppen Bangkok), during the weekly gathering at The Stable Lodge. Many thanks to Khun Bo Olsén, computer entrepreneur, for the warm welcome and the delicious cinnamon rolls! Dr Pojanath gave a presentation that covered the history and function of the Chamber as a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that supports Swedish and Swedish-related businesses and individuals in Thailand. The SweCham Working Groups and a variety of events organised or co-sponsored by the Chamber in the past year were also discussed. Following the presentation, a lively Q&A session ensued, during which participants posed numerous questions about SweCham and its activities. ‘The Swedish Group in Bangkok’ is also open to individuals who speak other Scandinavian languages or live in other parts of Thailand.
